Finance Web Application
Overview
Worked on a global scale product in finance area with complex data displays and a huge variety of user flows.
My role
UX/UI Designer as part of a team, conducted user research involving various stakeholders, delivered high fidelity mockups tailored for each user type, validated design solutions through usability tests involving high level stakeholders.
Challenge
Reviewing a complicated digital product that embraces a huge amount of financial data, operates on a large scale and do not only involve UX Design but also complex processes and service system design were the main challenges.
I overcame these challenges by translating user research into actionable insights and validating them through user testing, prioritising simplicity in the UI and showing attention to details.
Results
The new design has reached all of its users across the globe, handling sophisticated financial data and receiving great feedback on its intuitiveness. User engagement has increased drastically, as expressed by the key stakeholders.
Story of the project
The client had been operating within the same digital platform since years and was in need of an enhanced user experience and service system design. The platform wasn’t engaging due to lack of context and poorly designed user flows which lacked clear indications on how to proceed. Also the system included huge amount if data to digest which lacked clear visual hierarchy.
In order to understand the system, as a team, we:
Conducted a set of interviews with different stakeholders to create a detailed task analysis and system map, ensuring to understand the functions of the existing system completely.
Organised a remote Design Sprint to gain further insights about users’ journey and generate new ideas.
Research material displaying user personas, user journey maps, user flows, material from Design Sprint and remote usability tests
The outcome was:
User personas of different stakeholders involved in the system.
User journey maps highlighting their pain points and actionable insights.
A clear overview of high level stakeholders’ expectations and business needs.

After selecting the use case scenarios with clients through dot voting method, I moved on with the creation of low fidelity wireframes that represent and improve these solutions. After validating these solutions I continued with high fidelity wireframes that incorporate the elements of the design system.

A streamlined onboarding process for new users.
Intuitive user flows tailored for each user type, involving various touch points across the service system.

The results
The new design was instantly embraced by all of its users with enthusiasm, receiving remarkably positive feedback by high level stakeholders. Today the new platform manages a huge amount of financial data involving stakeholders all around the globe with great success. In particular:

Simplicity of data display is appreciated by all levels of stakeholders.
